President's Message Dear Members Well, as I am sending this month's address on April 1st, of course I was tempted of course to sneak in an April Fools Joke but will resist. Welcome to a brand new month. I am glad, as I am sure all of you are, that Spring is in the air. The Bluejays have taken the field and off to a good start. Temperatures are slowly rising and the Snowbirds are returning home. What used to be a line of cars from Florida however now seems now to be a flock of planes coming back from Portugal and Spain. How things have changed. Now its time to clean those clubs, re string the racquets and oil the bikes. It won't be long. Let me take this opportunity to once again welcome our new members, and hope you are all enjoying our monthly meeting and vast array of social events and activities. If you joined the club after May 1st/ 2025 the Management Committee is hosting a complimentary luncheon for new members. Watch for you invitation from our Membership Committee. This will be held immediately following our General Meeting at the Legion on Tuesday May 19th. Please circle that date on your calendar. So who was your favourite Beatle ? Like many of you, my love of music was shaped in the 60s so I very much look forward to our guest speaker at the Legion on April 21st. John Amone is a journalist and Author who wants the world to know that the story of the Beatles is the story of Canada and Canadians. He says our people were front and centre in the Beatles history affecting their lives, music and art as a band, and that you may never listen to The Beatles quite the same way again. We hope you will be able to attend the monthly meeting and enjoy this presentation, along with our Tale of Interest and social get together with other members. I look forward to seeing you at the April meeting or one of our many social events or activities. Don't forget you name tag to enter our monthly draw and maybe a book to share for our popular table exchange. Finally, I mentioned at our last meeting that we have sadly lost a few members over the past month or two and I just wanted once again take an opportunity to send my condolences to friends and family, and say we will surely miss dearly those who have left us. A very Happy Easter to everyone. Enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend . Go easy on the chocolate and treats. Best Regards Ray Scott |
